Job summary

Intermedia is seeking a proactive Senior DevOps Engineer to build, maintain, and operate Linux-based infrastructure at scale. This role is primarily remote with occasional visits to Coimbra or Aveiro, with Porto offices planned for the future.

You will collaborate with DevOps and development teams to deploy infrastructure, develop tooling, and optimize deployment processes across environments, leveraging GitHub, Jenkins, and Chef, among others.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of DevOps experience.
• Strong Linux knowledge and CLI proficiency.
• Experience with Chef or other configuration management tools.
• Ability to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, Github Actions, and Jenkins.
• Solid understanding of networking: DNS, TCP/UDP, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Willingness to tackle complex systems and routine tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Foundational understanding of security best practices.
• Proficiency with scripting languages like Bash, Ruby, Python, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with devops engineers and the development team to deploy and maintain infrastructure.
• Assist in developing and supporting tooling to streamline deployment and maintenance.
• Work with GitHub, Jenkins, and Chef to deploy applications from development through production.
• Support in-house and third-party applications, including deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Build and manage automation pipelines for deployment and maintenance.
• Day-to-day management of Linux servers via the command line.
• Create monitoring dashboards and alerts in Grafana leveraging Prometheus and Alertmanager.
• Document processes and best practices clearly and concisely.
• Participate in incident solving on-call rotation.
