A technology services company is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to enhance their team. The role involves designing secure network architectures and managing networking components. Candidates should have extensive experience in DevOps and strong networking skills, including cloud services. Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code and scripting is essential. This position requires attending the office in Coimbra at least weekly.

Role Description - Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure, resilient, and scalable network architectures across cloud and hybrid environments.
• Configure and manage networking components such as VPCs, subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, VPNs, and peering connections.
• Ensure network security and compliance, including IAM, policies, and zero-trust networking principles.
• Troubleshoot and optimize network performance (latency, throughput, fault tolerance).
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
• Deploy and manage containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, and Docker Swarm) with secure networking practices.
• Automate provisioning and configuration of infrastructure and networks using IaC (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Collaborate with software engineers to integrate networking and DevOps best practices.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps
• Strong expertise in networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPNs, firewalls, routing, load balancing, and traffic management.
• Hands-on experience configuring cloud networking services (AWS VPC, Security Groups, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Azure VNets, GCP VPC, etc.).
• Proven experience with container orchestration and networking: Kubernetes (CNI, ingress, service mesh) and Docker Swarm (overlay networks, services, ingress routing).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, or equivalent).
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar).
• Solid understanding of security best practices in network design and implementation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and networks.

NICE-TO-HAVE

• Certifications in networking or cloud (e.g., AWS Advanced Networking, Cisco CCNP/CCIE).
• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud connectivity.
• Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, Consul) and microservices communication patterns.
• Exposure to compliance standards (ISO, SOC2, GDPR) and secure network design.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading projects with a networking focus.
