Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking a senior Data Architect / Technical Lead to design and implement advanced data architectures, leveraging Lakehouse patterns with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog. You will build robust data pipelines, including streaming and CDC, and drive data governance and observability across Azure environments.

• +5 years of professional experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or a similar Technical Lead role.
• Understanding of Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Data Products, and Data Mesh.
• Experience with event-driven architectures, streaming pipelines, CDC, and REST/Async/Event APIs.
• Strong Data Governance, observability, SRE mindset, cloud cost management, security; exposure to Terraform and GitHub.
• Mandatory fluency in Portuguese (written and spoken) and understanding of English.
• Alignment with our corporate culture and ethics; strong customer focus and teamwork.

What will you do?

• Lead the design and implementation of advanced data architectures, leveraging Lakehouse and Medallion patterns with Delta Lake;
• Develop and optimize robust data pipelines, including streaming, Change Data Capture (CDC), and event-driven integrations using Azure Event Hub;
• Define and implement strategies for data governance, security, and observability across Azure cloud environments, incorporating Unity Catalog;
• Drive architectural reviews and foster an SRE mindset to ensure operational excellence and efficient cloud cost management;
• Collaborate on the definition and development of Data Products and API integration strategies (REST, Async, Event APIs).
