Job summary

Hexa Group in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 6–9 years of experience to join a data integration initiative in the banking sector. The role is based in Lisbon with a hybrid working model and focuses on enterprise data integration, data masking, and high-performance data processing.

You will develop, optimize and ensure reliability of ETL processes, data masking solutions and data quality controls across development, testing and production environments.

Qualifications

• 6 to 9 years of professional experience in Data Engineering, ETL development or enterprise data integration.
• Strong practical experience with Informatica PowerCenter in complex data processing environments.
• Troubleshoot, maintain and optimize data pipelines handling large data volumes.
• Experience implementing or maintaining data masking solutions.
• Understanding of data integration architectures, data lifecycle management and data quality.
• Autonomous work style with ability to prioritise technical challenges.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving with attention to technical quality.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter for reliable data integration.
• Implement and maintain data masking mechanisms across environments.
• Analyze complex data processing issues, identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Optimize data workflows and database interactions for large-scale processing.
• Support data quality controls, validation processes and monitoring activities.
• Investigate production incidents and contribute to service stability.
• Support deployment, standardization and industrialization of data integration components.
• Maintain technical documentation for integration processes and configurations.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture and applications teams.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and reusable engineering solutions.
