Job summary

EVS is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a hybrid team based in Liège and Porto. You will help design, build and evolve EVS's data platform to power analytics and AI initiatives, collaborating with Data Owners, Report Owners and Data Stewards.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, engineering excellence, and adoption of modern data practices, with a focus on scalability, security and governance. Fluent English is required; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering in Microsoft Azure environment.
• DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification is a plus.
• Strong customer focus and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Autonomous, proactive and well-organized.
• Analytical, pragmatic and quality-driven mindset.
• Willingness to learn, share knowledge and help others grow.
• Excellent written and spoken English. French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data owners and stakeholders to translate needs into scalable data solutions.
• Take end-to-end ownership of data solutions from requirements analysis to deployment.
• Design, develop and maintain data models, pipelines and transformations using Microsoft Fabric, dbt and Azure technologies.
• Build and maintain trusted data foundations that support analytics, reporting and AI-powered solutions.
• Contribute to the development of AI-driven use cases and data products.
• Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Implement CI/CD practices, automated testing and deployment processes to operate data solutions in production.
• Contribute to EVS's data architecture, technical standards and engineering best practices.
• Implement and maintain security, governance and data quality controls.
• Ensure technical and functional documentation remains accurate and up to date.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting the data platform and pipelines.
• Share expertise and best practices within the Data Team.
