Aubay Portugal is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms in cloud environments. You will build robust batch and real-time pipelines, implement data architectures, and ensure data quality and security.

The role demands 7+ years of experience, strong GCP proficiency (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub), SQL and Python/Scala capabilities, and DataOps knowledge. Hybrid work model with 2-3 days remote may apply.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of senior data engineering experience.
• Strong SQL and data modelling skills.
• Programming experience in Python or Scala.
• Experience with distributed processing (Spark/Databricks).
• GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub.
• Experience with DataOps: Git, CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), and Docker.
• Fluency in English (B2+).
• Authorized to work in Portugal.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms in cloud environments.
• Build and optimize batch and real-time data pipelines across sources and systems.
• Implement Data Lakes, Lakehouses, and Data Warehouses.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and security with governance.
• Support AI and Advanced Analytics by preparing datasets for ML/GenAI.
• Promote DataOps through automation, testing, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
