GRiT Solutions in Portugal is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our growing team. You will design and implement cloud-native data architectures, handle ingestions, modelling and storage, and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex topics into clear solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in data engineering, strong Python/SQL/Spark skills, experience with data warehouses and lakes, and a proven ability to optimize pipelines while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in Data Engineering with cloud-native focus.
• End-to-end data architecture incl. ingestion, modelling, storage, orchestration.
• Cloud-native data engineering in Microsoft ecosystem or AWS/GCP.
• Hands-on with Data Warehouses and Data Lakes.
• Strong Python, SQL and/or Spark skills.
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• DevOps/DataOps and CI/CD experience.
• Experience with data validation, lineage, documentation, monitoring.
• Ability to optimise pipelines for performance, cost, reliability.
• Ability to translate complex topics for business stakeholders.
• Mentoring junior/mid-level engineers and promoting best practices.
• English proficiency at least B2.

Must-Have:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, with a focus on cloud-native solutions and data architecture
• Strong experience in end-to-end data architecture and design, including data ingestion, modelling, storage, and orchestration (e.g. Medallion Architecture)
• Experience with cloud-native data engineering, preferably within the Microsoft ecosystem (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse), or equivalent AWS/GCP technologies
• Hands-on experience with Data Warehouses and Data Lakes (e.g. Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift)
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL and/or Spark
• Strong knowledge of relational (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Elasticsearch)
• Experience with DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience implementing data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring
• Ability to optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, cost, and reliability
• Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear explanations for business and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience mentoring junior/mid-level engineers and promoting engineering best practices
• English proficiency of at least B2 level

Would be great if you have:

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with Medallion Architecture
• Experience with multiple cloud platforms (Azure, AWS and/or GCP)
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, or Product Management
• Interest in progressively moving towards Data Product Management while maintaining a strong technical background
