The role involves building data pipelines, automating workflows, and ensuring high reliability across data platforms. Required qualifications include 8+ years of experience with AWS and ETL processes, along with proficiency in tools like Spark and Airflow. eXalt-Fi Portugal is looking for a Data Engineer to join high-impact transformation programs for one of Europe’s top market operators. Work on strategic, business-critical solutions while growing fast in a people-first consulting environment.

What You’ll Do

• Shape cloud data strategy and best practices (AWS-first; Azure/GCP welcome)
• Design & build scalable data pipelines and Lakehouse architectures (Iceberg; Hudi/Delta a plus)
• Automate ETL/ELT workflows using Airflow, Step Functions & AWS native orchestration
• Ensure high reliability, automated testing, and security across data platforms
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis & implement preventive improvements
• Share knowledge, mentor teams & contribute to technical excellence across the organization

What You Bring

• 8 years building data pipelines on public cloud (AWS preferred)
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, BI, Big Data or ML
• Proficiency with Spark (Hadoop a plus)
• Orchestration expertise: Airflow, Step Functions, AWS workflows
• Familiarity with AWS services: Glue, Lambda, Craw bilder, DynamoDB, Batch, etc.
• Understanding of networking, security, storage & IAM in cloud environments
• Experience with IaC: CloudFormation, Terraform
• Fluent English (spoken & written)

Nice to have: Financial markets exposure, consulting experience, Linux/containers expertise.
