Job summary

EDP Renewables in Lisbon seeks an experienced Data/AI Engineer to design and implement AI-driven automation across business processes. You will work hands-on with Generative AI, ML models, data pipelines, and automation tools to deliver scalable, production-ready solutions.

Collaborate with business teams to translate needs into practical, maintainable technology. The role requires 5+ years in data/AI/engineering, strong Python/SQL, and experience with Azure/Databricks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data, AI, Automation or Software Engineering.
• Degree or master’s in technical fields related to the role.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Experience with data platforms (Azure, Databricks).
• Experience with API development and execution.
• Solid understanding of data pipelines and analytics.
• Experience in Agile development teams.
• Interest or experience in Generative AI (LLMs, prompts).
• Nice to have UiPath or similar low-code RPA tools.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end automations integrating AI, data and business apps.
• Develop GenAI-powered solutions and ML models for processes.
• Build data pipelines (ETL/ELT) from multiple sources.
• Create AI-powered applications and tools for the B2C domain.

Whatyouwilldo:

The candidate willbe responsible fordeveloping and implementing AI, automation, and data-driven solutions that improve business processes and customer experience. They will work hands‑on with Generative AI, machine learning models, data pipelines, and automation tools to create scalable, production‑ready solutions. The role involves designing end‑to‑end automations, building AI-powered applications using LLMs and modern AI frameworks, and developing data solutions that generate actionable insights and support business growth. Working closely with business teams, the candidate willidentifyhigh-impact opportunities, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure that developed tools are practical, maintainable, and widely adopted across the organization.

Key responsibilities:

Automation & Process Innovation

Design end-to-end automations integrating AI,dataand business applications

Develop solutions using tools like chatbots, APIs and python code to automate business processes

Design and implement GenAI-powered solutions

Work with LLMs, prompt engineering and modern AI frameworks

Develop ML models tooptimizeand automate business processes

Build end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using multiple data sources

Deliver actionable insights and tools to improve operational efficiency

Develop data-driven applications for the B2C segment

Work directly with business teams toidentifyhigh-impact use cases with no intermediaries

Translate real-world problems into scalable technical solutions

Ensure solutions are usable,maintainableand adopted

What are we looking for

More than 5 years of experience in Data, AI, Automation or Software Engineering

Degree or master'sontechnological areas such as: Electrical and computer engineering, Applied Mathematics and Computation, Computer engineering, DataScienceother degrees relevant to the role.

Strong programming skills in Python and SQL

Experience with data platforms (Azure, Databricks)

Experience with APIs (Development and execution)

Solid understanding of data pipelines and analytics

Experience working in an Agile development team

Interest or experience in Generative AI (LLMs, prompt engineering)

Nice to have:

Low Code RPA tools (e.g.UiPath)
