Senior Data Analyst

Blip is a leading tech company focused on software engineering solutions for sports entertainment.

We operate at scale. As part of Flutter Entertainment, we play an essential role in the Group's goal of becoming the global leader in online sports betting and iGaming, developing innovative products and platforms for over 14 million monthly customers worldwide.

We are serious about Tech. We are problem-solvers with big ambitions, keeping a people-first mindset at the core of our work. We prioritize flexibility as we strive to deliver the best technological products and tackle the greatest industry challenges.

Recognizing that everyone brings their own strengths, backgrounds and new perspectives, we empower you to be yourself. That uniqueness shapes the culture of belonging we are so proud of.

The role

Global Platforms operates at significant scale (~600 people), requiring a live, accurate, view of workforce composition, allocation, cost, and capability.

This role is responsible for building and maintaining that view — enabling leadership to understand who we have, where they are deployed, how their time is spent, and how this aligns to investment, delivery and efficiency outcomes.

The role sits at the intersection of Technology, Finance, and HR, combining data engineering, analytics, and business insight.

It will also be central to the evolution of AI-enabled tooling, dashboards, and processes to continuously improve visibility, forecasting and decision-making.

What You'll be Doing
Workforce Visibility & allocation
  • Maintain a single, accurate view of all people (~600) across Global Platforms, tracking organisational structure and role types, squad/platform allocation, location and cost centre, skills and capability profiles
  • Provide clear insight into how resources are distributed vs strategic priorities
Capacity & Investment Tracking
  • Track how time is spent across capitalised delivery, operational activity, and training/development
  • Ensure alignment between reported effort, financial capitalisation, and delivery plans
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies between engineering, finance, and planning views
Workforce Planning & Change Management
  • Track and govern vacancy creation and conversion (role-type changes), and new headcount approvals vs actual recruitment
  • Maintain an auditable view of workforce evolution over time
  • Support scenario modelling for workforce planning decisions
Financial Alignment & Budget Governance
  • Partner closely with Finance to track workforce costs vs budget, and ensure alignment between headcount, allocation, and financial forecasts
  • Provide leadership with clear, reconciled views of spend vs plan
  • Define and track key operational ratios, e.g., engineering vs product vs support; build vs run; seniority mix
  • Identify opportunities to improve operating model efficiency and effectiveness
Data Platform, Tooling & AI Enablement
  • Own and evolve the People Data ecosystem, including data pipelines across HR, Finance, and Engineering systems; dashboards and reporting layers
  • Design scalable, AI-enabled approaches to automate insights generation, improve data quality management, and enable self-service access for leadership
  • Reduce manual reporting overhead and dependency risks.
Leadership Support & Insight Generation
  • Act as a trusted partner to Global Platforms leadership
  • Translate complex data into clear narratives, actionable insights and decision‑ready outputs
  • Support strategic initiatives with robust workforce data and modelling
What You’ll Bring
  • Deep experience in workforce analytics, financial analysis, or operational planning, going beyond pure data reporting, with a track record of delivering complex analytical projects that shape business direction.
  • Strong commercial and business knowledge, ideally within sports betting, gaming, or a related sector.
  • Proven ability to work across Tech, Finance, and HR domains
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-source, sometimes incomplete or ambiguous datasets
  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or Engineering/ a track record of excellence in subjects with a mathematical or statistical focus.
  • Strong understanding of workforce planning concepts; financial/capex tracking; engineering or delivery structures
  • Ability to connect data to commercial and operational outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management (Tech + Finance + HR)
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences including senior stakeholders, delivering output that is clear and succinct despite the subject being complex.
  • Proven ability to work independently and provide a personal resolution to projects, while also supporting the Delivery & Continuous Improvement and wider Global Platforms team.
  • Proactive and collaborative, with strong cross‑functional relationship‑building skills and the ability to drive alignment on priorities.
  • Curious and questioning approach with a high level of attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of statistical programming software and techniques (e.g., Python, R).
  • Strong experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or EazyBI — including building scalable, well‑governed dashboards.
  • Experience with ETL data pipelines and statistical/data modelling techniques.
  • Understanding of Jira / GitHub data ecosystems
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing (e.g., AWS), machine learning concepts, and distributed database architecture is desirable.
