As our Senior Consolidation Specialist, you'll be at the heart of Jumia's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight across our diverse markets. You'll work with a dynamic team to create a clear financial picture that drives informed decision-making at the highest levels of the company.

What you will be doing

• Pan-African Financial Consolidation:
• Lead the monthly consolidation process, synthesizing financial data from multiple African markets
• Collaborate with local finance teams to gather and validate financial information
• Prepare and meticulously review local financial packages, ensuring adherence to IFRS standards
• Implement and refine consolidation adjustments to accurately reflect Jumia's financial position
• Strategic Reporting and Analysis:
• Develop insightful financial reports that illuminate Jumia's performance across diverse African markets
• Contribute to the creation of management reports that guide strategic decisions
• Analyze trends and variances, providing valuable insights to senior leadership
• Intercompany Reconciliation:
• Spearhead the intercompany reconciliation process, ensuring alignment across Jumia's operations
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, maintaining the integrity of our financial data
• Audit Support and Compliance:
• Act as a key liaison during external audits, showcasing Jumia's financial strength and compliance
• Stay abreast of IFRS updates and local regulatory changes across African markets
• Implement best practices to ensure Jumia remains at the forefront of financial compliance
• Process Improvement and Innovation:
• Identify opportunities to streamline consolidation processes through automation and best practices
• Collaborate on projects to enhance Jumia's financial systems and reporting capabilities

What we are looking for

• Educational Background: Degree in Management, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
• Experience: 5+ years in Audit, Corporate Finance, Accounting, or Consolidation within an IFRS environment.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English; knowledge of French or other African languages is a plus.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with consolidation software is advantageous.
• Analytical Prowess: Sharp analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensure accuracy in all financial reporting.
• Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural environment typical of a growing tech company.
