Job Description

The Compliance Specialist - Data Security position is the central point of contact for all matters related to technical data protection. Supports Continental in complying with the technical data protection requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation, our Binding Corporate Rules, and other laws (e.g., the NIS2 Directive). Additionally, the Compliance Specialist - Data Security supports with evaluating potential Data Breaches (e.g., cyberattacks) and their notification to competent authorities as well as the implementation of remediation measures.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting the identification and assessment of data protection risks;
  • Developing internal policies for technical data protection;
  • Monitoring the organizations' compliance with these policies and applicable laws;
  • Assisting in the prevention, monitoring, and reporting of data breaches and data protection violations;
  • General data protection tasks (e.g., independently reviewing inquiries regarding data protection issues; preparing and delivering training sessions for employees and managers worldwide).

Qualifications
  • Academic degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or comparable education;
  • Qualification/certification in Data Compliance (preferred);
  • 3+ of professional experience within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function;
  • Experience with GDPR;
  • Experience implementing data compliance management systems and developing policy anddata protection compliance training;
  • Knowledge of information technology and data management systems;
  • Solid knowledge of EU data compliance regulations and understanding of other major national data compliance frameworks and evolving legislation;
  • Strong knowledge of technical data protection and cybersecurity (e.g., threats; vulnerabilities, security controls);
  • Motivation in forward-looking topics, such as AI;
  • Project management and change management skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and to work independently ina fast pace environment;
  • Experience in multinational organizations with diverse teams (preferred);
  • Business-fluent English skills (spoken and written);
  • Strong communication skills and team-player mentality;
  • Intercultural sensitivity;
  • Open to travel up to 10% , incl. business trips abroad.
