act digital in Lisbon is seeking a Senior C++ Engineer to design, develop, and optimize a high-performance electronic trading platform, focusing on ultra-low latency and scalable architectures. You will work on multi-threaded Linux systems, implement modern C++17/20, lead technical initiatives for greenfield projects, and collaborate with distributed teams across trading, quantitative, and business units.
This role emphasizes ownership of the full SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, rigorous testing, and
Design, develop, and enhance a high-performance electronic trading platform supporting ultra-low latency algorithmic trading.
Build and maintain core platform components, including:
Develop software using modern C++ (C++17/C++20) while applying advanced programming techniques to maximize throughput and minimize latency.
Work on highly optimized Linux-based systems, leveraging multi-threading, CPU affinity, memory optimization, and efficient concurrency models.
Contribute to innovative greenfield projects, designing new platform capabilities and next-generation trading services.
Participate throughout the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including:
Collaborate closely with Production Support teams to ensure reliable deployments, incident resolution, and continuous platform improvements.
Own the full lifecycle of platform components-from development and testing to CI/CD, production support, maintenance, and continuous optimization.
Work alongside globally distributed engineering, quantitative, and business teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and mission-critical trading solutions.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability, and developer productivity.

5+ years of professional software development experience.
Previous experience leading technical initiatives or engineering teams (2+ years preferred).
Experience working on electronic trading platforms, financial systems, or other mission-critical real-time applications is highly valued.

Experience participating in modernization, migration, or large-scale refactoring projects.
