As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, you’ll play a key role in transitioning our self-service analytics ecosystem from Power BI to Databricks, helping shape how data is accessed, trusted, and used across the business.
You’ll work alongside data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to build scalable, governed analytics solutions that empower users with trusted insights while driving adoption of Databricks-native capabilities.
What you'll do
- Lead the evolution of our BI platform from Power BI to Databricks;
- Design and maintain governed semantic models using Unity Catalog;
- Build interactive Databricks Dashboards, Apps, and Genie experiences for self-service analytics;
- Migrate Power BI datasets, semantic models, and reports with minimal business disruption;
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and business teams to ensure trusted, secure, and high-quality data products;
- Support existing Power BI assets during the migration period;
- Establish BI best practices for semantic modeling, dashboard design, performance, and governance;
- Enable business users through documentation, training, and adoption initiatives;
- Monitor BI usage and continuously improve the self-service analytics experience.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or a similar data-focused role;
- Strong hands‑on experience with Power BI, including semantic models, DAX, Power Query, and Row‑Level Security;
- Experience with Databricks, including Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, SQL Warehouses, Dashboards, Apps, and Genie (or comparable BI/NLP tools);
- Advanced SQL skills and working knowledge of Python;
- Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic layer design, and data governance;
- Professional fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills;
- A proactive mindset with a passion for building scalable, user‑friendly BI solutions.
- Nice to have: Experience migrating BI solutions to Databricks or another lakehouse platform; Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or similar cloud analytics platforms; Experience with CI/CD, version control, and DevOps practices for BI.; Databricks or Power BI certifications; Experience using AI‑assisted development tools to improve delivery and enable self‑service analytics.
