S2AQUAcoLAB invites a Bioinformatics and Biostatistics Technician with a Master’s or Doctoral degree to join our scientific team in Portugal. The role focuses on advanced analysis of biological data in sustainable aquaculture, developing pipelines, models, and actionable insights.

You will collaborate across disciplines, contribute to international projects, and mentor students as needed. Fluency in English and Portuguese, and at least 5 years of professional experience, are required for this

Qualificações

• Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Biotechnology, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the field.
• Experience in processing, integrating, and analyzing large biological datasets.
• Experience in R and/or Python for advanced statistical analysis.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement bioinformatics and biostatistics analysis pipelines for aquaculture research.
• Process, integrate, and interpret diverse omics and production data.
• Develop statistical models and predictive algorithms to optimize aquaculture systems.
• Collaborate on experimental design, data analysis, and reporting.
• Support international R&D projects and knowledge transfer to partners.
