Position

Senior Backup Engineer – Commvault Platform

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise-level backup and recovery environments using Commvault
• Implement backup policies
• Monitor and optimize backup job performance and storage utilization
• Perform full and granular restores, including DR operations
• Manage Commvault agents for Oracle, SQL, Postgres Server, and other enterprise applications
• Coordinate patching, upgrades, and changes to the backup environment
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to backup failures and performance
• Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and security teams to ensure data protection standards
• Document procedures

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Commvault environments (v11.x or newer)
• Strong knowledge of backup policy and retention design
• Strong knowledge of restore procedures
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Solid understanding of database backups, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server
• English proficiency: B2 level or higher

Desired Skills

• Commvault Certified Professional or Commvault Certified Engineer certification
• Experience with cloud-based backups (Azure, AWS)
• Understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management)

Location

Lisbon, Braga, or Coimbra (hybrid)
