Position

Senior Backup Engineer – Commvault Platform

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise-level backup and recovery environments using Commvault.
• Implement backup policies.
• Monitor and optimize backup job performance and storage utilization.
• Perform full and granular restores, including DR operations.
• Manage Commvault agents for Oracle, SQL, Postgres Server, and other enterprise applications.
• Coordinate patching, upgrades, and changes to the backup environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to backup failures and performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, database, and security teams to ensure data protection standards.
• Document procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing Commvault environments (v11.x or newer).
• Backup policy and retention design.
• Restore procedures.
• Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Solid understanding of database backups, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
• English proficiency: B2 level or higher.

Desired Skills

• Commvault Certified Professional or Commvault Certified Engineer certification.
• Experience with cloud-based backups (Azure, AWS).
• Understanding of ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management).

Location

Lisbon, Braga, or Coimbra (hybrid)
