Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment Portugal is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for a fully remote role across Portugal. You will own scalable backend services and distributed infrastructure, work with Python/Java/C++, and shape cloud solutions on AWS.

Qualifications

I'm working with a fast-growing, VC-backed technology company that's revolutionising engineering simulation through high-performance computing and cloud technology.

They're looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a small, highly experienced engineering team, taking ownership of scalable backend systems and distributed infrastructure.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, with genuine ownership and direct access to the founders.

What you'll be working on:

• Designing and building scalable backend services and APIs.
• Developing distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Building solutions across AWS and high-performance computing environments.
• Improving data management, storage and processing pipelines.
• Taking ownership of backend services from design through to production.

What we're looking for:
