IRIUM is seeking a Backend Developer (Java / Spring Boot) for a technology project in Lisbon. The role offers a hybrid work model (2 days on-site, 3 days remote) with a monthly gross salary range of €2,000–€2,300.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in backend development, strong Java 17+, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST APIs, and experience with Oracle/PostgreSQL/MongoDB, Git, Kafka, Docker, and Kubernetes. Agile experience and mentoring skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proficient with Java 17+ and Spring Boot; Hibernate experience preferred.
• Design, develop and integrate REST APIs.
• Strong DB skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with Git and version control best practices.
• Knowledge of messaging systems (Apache Kafka).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiar with Scrum/Agile methodologies.
• Develop, maintain and improve enterprise applications.
• Produce technical documentation and apply best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and review deliverables.
• Strong communication, analytical thinking, autonomy and teamwork.
• Interest in AI-assisted development tools.

Responsabilités

• Develop, maintain and optimize scalable backend applications.
• Identify and implement software development best practices and technical improvements.
• Adopt AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Support junior developers through task specification and guidance.
• Collaborate with production support teams for knowledge transfer.
• Work with Product Owners to deliver technical solutions.
• Contribute to code quality and reliability.
