Emma – The Sleep Company in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our ERP team. You will design, build, and scale backend services in Go and Typescript to support Emma’s global fulfillment and logistics, and develop robust REST APIs that integrate with internal systems and third-party providers.

You will work with event-driven AWS services (SNS/SQS), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines, taking ownership of components end-to-end from development to monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is required.
• Several years of backend software development experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with cloud-based architectures and full DevOps ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services in Go and Typescript for Emma's ERP and global fulfillment systems.
• Develop and maintain robust, secure REST APIs that integrate with internal systems and third-party providers.
• Work with event-driven architectures using AWS SNS/SQS and ensure smooth communication across distributed systems.
• Own backend components end-to-end—from development to testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Ensure high code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Be part of an agile, international team, share knowledge, mentor peers, and contribute to team growth.
• Assist in recruiting to grow a high-performing tech team.
