• Experience with RabbitMQ.
• Experience with REST API design and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Docker and Kubernetes proficiency.
• OAuth2/OIDC frameworks experience.
• Security practices: OWASP Top 10.
• Proficient English for documentation and collaboration.
• Portuguese native or C2 proficiency.

1.1 Role Overview

The Senior Backend Engineer will take on responsibilities primarily focused on reviewing and finalizing architecture documentation during the onboarding period. The role encompasses making technical decisions related to the backend architecture, followed by implementing backend modules post-approval.

1.2 Main Responsibilities

The role includes the following core duties:

• Collaborate with internal architects on finalizing architecture documents.
• Prepare technical bases for decision-making on architecture issues.
• Implement business-logic backend modules post-architecture approval using Java/Quarkus.
• Design database schemas and ensure transaction safety in PostgreSQL.
• Document and implement REST APIs as per OpenAPI 3.0 standards.
• Integrate with external systems including Swissdec, ZEFIX, and AGOV/SwissID.
• Implement security measures, including audit logging and data encryption.
• Engage in containerization and deployment with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure a minimum of 80% test coverage.

1.3 Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Backend Engineer focusing on Java/Quarkus.
• Experience with modular architectures or microservices.
• Solid relational database expertise, particularly in PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with asynchronous communication tools like RabbitMQ.
• Experience in REST API design and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Proficient in containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.
• Experience with OAuth2/OIDC frameworks.
• Strong understanding of security practices: OWASP Top 10.
• Good command of the English language for documentation and team interactions.
• Native Portuguese speaker or at least C2 proficiency.

1.4 Nice to Have

• Experience with arc42 architectural documentation and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Background in regulated environments such as public administration or healthcare.
• Familiarity with XBRL or structured reporting formats.
• Experience with high-availability and backup/recovery concepts.

1.5 Other Details

This role entails close collaboration with project management and architects. Technical onboarding will be conducted by in-house team members, and liaising with operations for deployment and infrastructure issues is expected.
