Job summary

Wire IT, based in Portugal, is hiring a Senior Automation QA Engineer for a hybrid role in Vila Nova de Gaia / Porto. The position requires 5+ years in QA, 3+ years test automation, and strong Playwright/TypeScript experience.

You will design and maintain scalable automated test frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), perform API/UI testing, and collaborate with developers to ensure quality across multi-tenant SaaS products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Engineering, or Quality Engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in test automation.
• 2+ years of experience with Playwright or equivalent browser automation frameworks.
• Strong experience with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript or equivalent programming languages.
• Experience designing and maintaining scalable automated test frameworks.
• Strong experience in UI, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience testing SaaS and web-based products, including multi-tenant workflows, user permissions, role-based access control, and critical business processes.
• Strong knowledge of REST API testing, HTTP methods, authentication, authorization, JSON, and API contracts.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and implementing quality gates.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions, Git, and version control.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM, browser behaviour, and cross-browser testing.
• Experience with SQL and database validation.
• Knowledge of test automation best practices, test isolation, parallel execution, test data management, and flaky test troubleshooting.
• Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar test and defect management tools.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, Scrum, risk-based testing, and shift-left testing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to define testing strategies, identify quality risks, and collaborate with development teams and stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring QA engineers and promoting quality engineering best practices.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
• ISTQB, Playwright, Cloud, Security Testing, or Agile certifications are considered an advantage.
