As Senior AI Engineer, you will lead AI model development, optimize LLM performance, and build robust ML pipelines for on-prem deployment, collaborating with research and clinical advisors.

This role focuses on medical data interpretation, RAG pipelines, and regulatory readiness.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of AI/ML engineering with production deployments.
• Strong expertise in LLMs, transformers, and deep learning.
• Experience with RAG systems, vector databases, and embedding models.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and modern ML frameworks.

About BloodFlow

BloodFlow is an on-premise clinical intelligence layer that makes the patient record computable — turning a hospital's EMR from storage into a continuously computed, fully cited clinical state. Deterministic, regulated, inside the EMR. We're finalizing MDR Class IIa and preparing for CE mark.

Role summary

As Senior AI Engineer, you lead the development of the core AI models behind the clinical computation layer. You work directly with our research team and clinical advisors to build, optimize, and deploy systems that help physicians make safer diagnostic decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced AI models for medical data interpretation
• Optimize LLM performance for clinical accuracy and reliability
• Build and maintain RAG pipelines using LangChain, LlamaIndex, and vector databases
• Develop custom fine-tuning strategies for domain-specific medical knowledge

Research & innovation

• Research state-of-the-art techniques in medical AI and natural language processing
• Collaborate with clinical experts to understand medical reasoning patterns
• Implement novel approaches for handling medical uncertainty and edge cases
• Deploy AI models in on-prem environments with high reliability standards
• Implement comprehensive model monitoring and performance tracking
• Ensure models meet regulatory requirements for medical device certification

What we're looking for

Must-have

• 5+ years experience in AI/ML engineering with production deployments
• Strong expertise in LLMs, transformers, and deep learning
• Experience with RAG systems, vector databases, and embedding models
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and modern ML frameworks

Nice-to-have

• PhD or Master's in AI/ML, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience in healthcare AI, medical NLP, or clinical decision support
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in healthcare (MDR, FDA, CE marking)
