Merkle, a dentsu company, is seeking a Senior AI Engineer in Lisbon to lead prompt engineering and empower business users with AI solutions. You will coach teammates, develop guides, and drive best practices across the organization.

Position Overview

Prompt Engineering & Technical Support

Our client is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead prompt engineering initiatives and provide technical support to business users. This role is focused on enabling business people across the organization to effectively utilize and maximize AI solutions. You will be the technical expert who coaches and supports users in crafting effective prompts and implementing AI tools within their workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prompt Engineering Excellence

• Develop, refine, and establish best practices for effective prompt engineering across the organization
• Support and coach business users in crafting prompts to maximize AI solution utilization
• Create comprehensive guides, templates, and resources for prompt engineering
• Troubleshoot and optimize prompts for better outcomes

2. Business User Support & Enablement

• Provide hands-on technical support to business users implementing AI solutions
• Conduct training sessions on AI tools and prompt best practices
• Help integrate AI tools into business workflows and processes
• Document and share technical learnings and case studies across the organization

3. Technical Leadership

• Stay current with AI platforms, tools, and emerging capabilities
• Evaluate new AI solutions for organizational use
• Mentor junior technical staff on AI implementation
• Lead technical communities of practice and knowledge-sharing initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience with AI, machine learning, and/or LLM technologies
• Advanced expertise in prompt engineering and AI tool utilization
• Deep technical knowledge of AI capabilities, limitations, and best practices
• Strong ability to break down complex AI concepts into practical guidance
• Excellent communication skills, particularly with non-technical business users
• Experience in technical training and mentoring
• Hands on experience with multiple AI platforms and tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field
• Certification in AI/ML or related technical areas
• Experience with AI model fine-tuning and customization
• Knowledge of AI governance and responsible AI practices
