Hrre Unipessoal Lda (Zfm) seeks a senior-level Accountant to support international operations in entertainment and live events, applying Portuguese legislation and SNC, beyond bookkeeping. The role is hands-on with ownership across structuring, compliance, and decision-making for cross-border activities, including tax returns, VAT, IRC, and MIBC-related filings.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Accounting/Finance, Contabilista Certificado preferred, with Madeira/MIBC experience and intercompany

Qualificações

• Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Certified Accountant in Portugal is preferred.
• Experience with Madeira/MIBC structures and Portuguese tax rules.

Responsabilidades

• Manage full-cycle accounting under Portuguese GAAP (SNC).
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
• Handle reconciliations, general ledger, and closing processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking.
• Ensure VAT/IRC and other filings are compliant.
• Monitor substance criteria and activity scope alignment.
• Support audits and documentation related to MIBC status.

We're looking for a senior-level Accountant with hands-on experience with Portuguese legislation to support our international operations in the entertainment and live events space.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership - ideal for someone who wants to go beyond bookkeeping and be involved in structuring, compliance, and decision-making across cross-border operations.

Key responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

• Manage full-cycle accounting under Portuguese GAAP (SNC)
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Handle reconciliations, general ledger, and closing processes
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow tracking
• Ensure compliance with Zona Franca da Madeira requirements
• Monitor substance criteria (employment, operations, expenses)
• Maintain alignment with approved activity scope
• Support audits and documentation related to MIBC status

Tax & Legal Compliance

• Prepare and submit VAT (IVA), IRC, and other filings
• Stay on top of Portuguese reporting deadlines
• Coordinate with authorities and external advisors
• Support payroll-related accounting if needed

Strategic Support

• Advise on accounting and tax implications of international operations
• Work closely with legal, banking, and external partners
• Deliver clear financial insights to support decision-making

What we're looking for

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
• Certified Accountant in Portugal (Contabilista Certificado) - preferred
• Proven experience with Madeira (MIBC) structures
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese tax and accounting rules
• Experience with international / cross-border activity
• Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable

Nice to have

• Background in entertainment, events, or services businesses
• Understanding of transfer pricing basics
• Experience with EU VAT (especially services/events)
• Comfortable working with legal and corporate service providers
