Job summary

Komodo Consulting is seeking a SAP ABAP Consultant for a hybrid role in Portugal. The specialist will develop ABAP programs across FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, and HR modules, and build custom reports, interfaces, and workflows.

Collaboration with functional teams is essential to translate business needs into solid technical designs. The role requires hands-on ABAP development experience, OO ABAP, S/4HANA development, and a solid understanding of enhancement frameworks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong skills in classic ABAP and OO ABAP.
• Experience with S/4HANA development and CDS views.
• Familiar with SAP enhancement framework, BADIs, and user exits.
• Proficient in debugging and performance tuning.
• Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• ABAP development across FI/CO, MM, SD, PP or HR modules.
• Build custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Translate business requirements into robust technical specs.
• Review and optimize ABAP code for efficiency and scalability.
• Support integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems (IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, OData).
• Troubleshoot issues in development and production environments.
• Contribute to end-to-end project lifecycles and improvements.

The project

We are seeking a SAP ABAP Consultant to work on a project for an Energy Company.

You will have the following responsibilities:

• ABAP Development: Develop, test, and maintain SAP ABAP programs across modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, or HR;
• Custom Solutions: Build custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflow solutions;
• Technical Design: Work closely with functional consultants to translate business requirements into robust technical specifications;
• Performance Optimization: Review and optimize existing ABAP code for efficiency, scalability, and best practices;
• Systems Integration: Support integrations with SAP and non-SAP systems (IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, OData services);
• Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in both development and production environments;
• Project Participation: Contribute to end-to-end project lifecycles and continuous system improvements.

You need to have the following skills/experience:

• Hands-On Experience: 3+ years of SAP ABAP development;
• ABAP Expertise: Strong skills in both classic ABAP and Object-Oriented ABAP;
• S/4HANA Development: Experience with ABAP CDS Views, RAP, or S/4HANA development;
• Enhancements & Frameworks: Solid understanding of SAP enhancement framework, BADIs, and user exits;
• Technical Troubleshooting: Proficient with debugging tools and performance tuning techniques;
• Collaboration & Communication: Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly.

Location

Lisbon, Braga or Coimbra (Hybrid - 1 day per week in the office).
