Overview

There is an open call for one (1) Research Scholarship (“Bolsa de Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of project EXIGENCE. This project has received funding from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101139120. Admission Requirements

• Research grants (BI): Are intended for carrying out R&D activities by students enrolled in an integrated master's or a master's degree, aiming to consolidate their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the respective academic degree, whether or not integrated into R&D projects.
• Are intended for carrying out R&D activities by graduates enrolled in non-degree courses that are part of the educational programme of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.

Candidates must be enrolled on a course not conferring a degree or in a master program in the areas of Computer Science. Applicants should be fluent in spoken and written Portuguese. Additionally, it is mandatory that applicants have previous experience with development with ETSI OSM, previous experience in research projects (preferably international), and proven research work on energy consumption assessment on both network and computation environments.

Work Objectives

1. Design and development of an ecodata system
2. Integration of the development system into the architecture and framework of the Exigence project
3. Validation of the system
4. Participation on associated deliverables writing
5. Pursuit of scientific dissemination opportunities of the work, as well as standards and open-source contributions

Applicable legislation

A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 123/2019, dated August 28 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Fellowship Regulation of Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia. Place of work

The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Nunes Corujo.

Duration

6 months, with the possibility of renewal. This type of scholarship has a maximum duration of 2 years. Start date: October 2025 or soon thereafter.

Monthly salary

1340€; The payment will be made by bank transfer.

Each criteria, and the final classification F will be evaluated on a scale (0-20). The candidates will be ordered according to: F = C1 x 30% + C2 x 50% + C3 x 20%. In case of a tie, tied candidates will be ordered according to C1, then C2...

The Jury has the right to not admit any of the candidates that applied for this position whenever they consider that no candidate meets the minimum requirements for the position.
