Jobgether in Portugal is seeking a highly skilled Ubuntu Linux Kernel Engineer specializing in silicon enablement. You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, delivering kernel support across diverse SoC platforms and collaborating with silicon vendors and global teams.

You will diagnose complex kernel issues, develop patches, optimize build tooling and CI/CD, and help drive performance and stability for next‑generation devices in a fully remote, international environment.

Qualificações

• Strong programming in C with low-level system software knowledge.
• Deep Linux kernel understanding: architecture, drivers, BSPs.
• Experience with hardware-level development environments, RTOS or bare-metal.
• Proficient with Git and large codebases.
• Excellent collaboration in distributed teams; remote-ready.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with global teams and silicon vendors to integrate SoC support in the Ubuntu kernel across platforms.
• Diagnose and resolve kernel-level issues reported by partners, customers, and testing pipelines.
• Develop, review, and maintain Linux kernel patches with upstream maintainers and internal teams.
• Build silicon-optimized kernel variants ensuring performance, stability, and reliability.
• Improve automation, tooling, and CI/CD systems for kernel build, test, and release processes.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize hardware efficiency across architectures.
• Collaborate with hardware vendors to ensure seamless platform enablement and integration.
