Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join a cloud adoption and IT operations team in a fully remote role. You will provide first-level operational support, monitor infrastructure alerts, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems to ensure service stability and performance.

You will work across web servers, load balancers, TLS certificates, and databases (MariaDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL), optimize configurations, document processes, and share knowledge with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of relevant professional IT operations experience.
• Strong hands-on Linux skills including kernel tuning and filesystem management.
• Solid Windows knowledge especially Active Directory and system configuration.
• Experience with web servers and load-balancers (Traefik, NGINX, Envoy, Apache).
• Knowledge of TLS termination and database environments (MariaDB, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues systematically and work independently.
• Structured, reliable, proactive problem-solving and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for requests and alerts within a first-level ops team.
• Configure, maintain, optimize Linux/Windows systems including AD and kernel tuning.
• Operate and maintain web servers and load balancers (Traefik, NGINX, Envoy, Apache).
• Manage TLS termination and support MariaDB, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• Monitor performance, investigate issues, and contribute to reliability and stability.
• Identify improvements to configurations, architectures, and procedures.
• Collaborate with teammates and onboard new members; share knowledge.
• Maintain accurate documentation and daily work logs.
• Support rotating shifts (nights, weekends, holidays) for continuity.
