Jobgether is seeking an experienced Senior ML Engineer - Email Security for a remote position in Portugal. You will own end-to-end ML workflows from data gathering to production releases, focusing on spam, phishing, and related threats.

You will train transformers with PyTorch, build production Go components for the inference engine, and collaborate with partner engineers to ensure scalable, reliable deployments. Strong English writing is essential.

Qualificações

• At least five years of experience delivering detection or classification systems with false positives consequences.
• Experience independently taking a classifier into production, including corpus construction and release decisions.
• Hands-on transformer training with PyTorch, including tokenizers and fine-tuning.
• Strong Linux, shell scripting and Python skills, with experience on shared servers/GPU resources.
• Regular use of AI coding assistants and development tools to boost productivity.
• Excellent written English for technical documentation and reviews.
• Ability to analyze model performance and balance detection vs false positives.

Responsabilidades

• Model training, evaluation, and release of spam-detection models.
• Develop production components of the email-filtering engine in Go (inference service, integrations).
• Investigate and fix detection issues via rules or retraining.
• Balance detection rates with false-positive risks for real users.
• Maintain training corpora and tooling for reliable experimentation.
• Review classifier and model changes and document outcomes.
• Explain model scoring and provide guidance to partner engineers.
• Write specs, handbooks, and post-mortems for collaboration.
• Ship milestones including a rule-model release in month 1 and staged components by month 3.
