Jobgether is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer in Portugal for a remote-first role overseeing global hybrid networking across data centers, public cloud, Kubernetes, and bare-metal platforms.

The role combines architecture, implementation, and operational ownership, with hands-on delivery, incident response, and continuous improvement of network reliability and automation across distributed environments.

Qualificações

• Extensive experience in production networking environments emphasizing uptime, scalability, and reliability.
• Strong expertise in BGP, routing policies, traffic engineering, failover mechanisms, and network troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with IPsec VPNs and site-to-site connectivity solutions (e.g., strongSwan).
• Deep Linux networking knowledge including iproute2, tcpdump, nftables/iptables, conntrack, DNS behavior, and MTU/MSS tuning.
• Solid understanding of datacenter networking concepts such as VLANs, LACP, switching, firewalls, and physical constraints.
• Experience with cloud networking (VPC/VNet, routing tables, security groups, NAT, load balancing).
• Kubernetes networking knowledge including CNI, service networking, ingress, network policies, and packet-level debugging.
• Experience with network observability, telemetry, and incident-driven diagnostics.
• Familiarity with security practices: segmentation, least privilege, firewall lifecycle, secure change control.
• Ability to automate infrastructure using Terraform/OpenTofu, Ansible, APIs, and Git-based workflows.

Responsabilidades

• Take ownership of hybrid network design, operations, and reliability across distributed environments.
• Design, implement, and operate cross-data-center and cloud connectivity using BGP, IPsec, routing policies, and firewalls.
• Build resilient networking across cloud, Kubernetes, OpenNebula, and bare-metal with HA principles.
• Own end-to-end network change lifecycle: design, risk analysis, implementation, validation, rollback, and post-incident docs.
• Troubleshoot complex production networking issues involving Linux networking, VPNs, NAT, and packet-level behavior.
• Improve network automation, observability, and repeatability via IaC, Git workflows, and monitoring tooling.
• Maintain up-to-date topology diagrams, runbooks, IPAM data, DR plans, and operational guides.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and platform teams to ensure safe, scalable operations.
