SME Careers seeks a Portuguese Quality Assurance Lead for an hourly, remote contractor role to oversee quality across Portuguese AI training projects. You will review AI-generated content, provide precise feedback, and ensure adherence to project rubrics while supporting onboarding and documentation.

You will assess grammar, tone, cultural context, and regional usage, with a focus on consistency and quality.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native Portuguese writing skills and fluency in English.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Portuguese writing, editing, translation, localization, or QA.
• Strong knowledge of Portuguese grammar, tone, and regional usage, including Brazil-specific localization.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams is preferred.
• Comfortable with Discord, Sheets, Docs, trackers, and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Spot-check Portuguese items, identify issues, provide feedback to trainers and QAs.
• Update guidelines and project changes via Discord and other channels.
• Respond to questions on Portuguese grammar, tone, regional usage, and cultural context.
• Onboard and activate contributors; maintain documentation and onboarding materials.
• Ensure guidelines are applied consistently and improve QA workflows.
• Create and maintain Portuguese documentation and style guides.
