Job summary

Imaginary Cloud is seeking a seasoned Backend Developer to join our remote-first team in Portugal. You’ll design, build, and maintain robust back-end services using C#/.NET, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver world-class digital products.

You will write clean, testable code, leverage AI-assisted tools like Cursor IDE and GitHub Copilot, and work with MS SQL Server and various CMS platforms (Sitecore, Umbraco, DNN).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of back-end development with C#/.NET.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Ability to write clean, well-structured, testable code following .NET best practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and debugging.
• Experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server) and API integrations.
• CMS experience (Sitecore, Umbraco, DNN or similar).
• Fluent English (spoken and written).
• Residents of Portugal or legally eligible to work there.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end services using C#/.NET, delivering robust solutions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in problem solving and management tasks.
• Refactor and debug code, leveraging AI tools for efficiency.
• Work with MS SQL Server and integrate with external APIs and CMS-based web apps.
