Job summary

Fraunhofer Portugal is seeking a Computer Vision and Generative AI Researcher to join a team at the forefront of AI innovation. You will work on medical image data with emphasis on vision models, generative AI strategies, and auditing data quality, delivering reproducible reports and documentation.

The role requires a Master's degree in relevant engineering or computing fields, strong Python skills, experience with ML frameworks, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Informatics and Computing Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related studies.
• Excellent Python programming skills and experience with ML frameworks (e.g., Sklearn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
• Demonstrated ML background with hands-on CV experience for medical image data.
• Excellent communication skills in English (technical and business audiences).

Responsibilities

• Research and develop computer vision models for object detection, anomaly detection and semantic segmentation on medical image data.
• Research and develop generative AI strategies for medical image data.
• Research and implement approaches for auditing quality of real and synthetic medical image data.
• Deliver summarized reports and proper software documentation.
