IT House is seeking a Quality Automation Engineer for a direct placement with an end client in the Transport & Logistics sector, based in Porto. You will design, implement and maintain automated test suites and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure quality from development through delivery.

You will collaborate with developers, product owners and architects to advance automation-first quality, perform exploratory testing where needed, document defects and contribute to evolving testing

Qualificações

• Experience in software testing and test automation.
• Knowledge of Playwright or Cypress.
• Good understanding of modern software development with technologies such as Angular, Java, Spring Boot and CI/CD.
• Analytical thinking and root-cause analysis.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• English language proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build and maintain automated test suites for applications, with a focus on end-to-end and regression testing.
• Develop test strategies together with developers, product owners and architects, prioritizing automation-first quality.
• Create and execute manual and exploratory tests where they add value, especially for new features, edge cases and user journeys.
• Identify, document and track defects, support root-cause analysis and work closely with development teams until resolution.
• Define and maintain test plans, test cases and test data based on requirements and business processes.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to make quality checks part of the regular delivery flow.
• Support teams in making software more testable, reliable and transparent.
• Contribute to new quality standards, tools and ways of working in an international development environment.
• Work in an agile setup and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, architects and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Practical knowledge of test automation tools (e.g. Playwright, Cypress or comparable frameworks);
• Good understanding of modern software development, ideally with technologies such as Angular, Java, Spring Boot and CI/CD practices;
• Analytical thinking, root-cause orientation and a structured approach to software quality;
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Curiosity, initiative and the willingness to constructively challenge existing processes;
• Motivation to help shape a quality engineering approach;
• Good knowledge of English.
