IT House in Porto is seeking a Quality Automation Engineer for a direct placement with an end client in the Transport & Logistics sector. The role focuses on building and maintaining automated tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

You'll develop test strategies with developers, product owners and architects, prioritising automation-first quality, and you will also perform manual/testing where valuable to cover new features and edge cases.

Qualificações

• Experience in software testing, test automation or quality engineering.
• Knowledge of Playwright or Cypress frameworks.
• Understanding of modern software development with Angular, Java, Spring Boot and CI/CD.
• Analytical thinking and a structured approach to software quality.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to challenge existing processes.
• Fluent English communication.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build and maintain automated test suites for apps with end-to-end and regression focus.
• Develop test strategies with developers, PO and architects, prioritising automation.
• Create and execute manual and exploratory tests for new features and edge cases.
• Identify, document and track defects; support root-cause analysis until resolution.
• Define and maintain test plans, test cases and test data from requirements.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for regular quality checks.
• Help teams make software more testable, reliable and transparent.
• Contribute to new quality standards, tools and ways of working in an international environment.
• Work in an agile setup and collaborate with developers, POs, architects and stakeholders.

IT House is looking for a Quality Automation Engineer for a direct placement with an end client in the Transport & Logistics sector, located in Porto.

Main Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated test suites for applications, with a focus on end-to-end and regression testing;
• Develop test strategies together with developers, product owners and architects, prioritizing automation-first quality;
• Create and execute manual and exploratory tests where they add value, especially for new features, edge cases and user journeys;
• Identify, document and track defects, support root-cause analysis and work closely with development teams until resolution;
• Define and maintain test plans, test cases and test data based on requirements and business processes;
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to make quality checks part of the regular delivery flow;
• Support teams in making software more testable, reliable and transparent;
• Contribute to new quality standards, tools and ways of working in an international development environment;
• Work in an agile setup and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, architects and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience in software testing, test automation or quality engineering;
• Practical knowledge of test automation tools ( Playwright, Cypress or comparable frameworks);
• Good understanding of modern software development, ideally with technologies such as Angular, Java, Spring Boot and CI/CD practices;
• Analytical thinking, root-cause orientation and a structured approach to software quality;
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders;
• Curiosity, initiative and the willingness to constructively challenge existing processes;
• Motivation to help shape a quality engineering approach;
• Good knowledge of English.
