Jobtailor is seeking a QA/Test Automation Engineer to own the automation strategy for our software platform in Porto. You will design and maintain automated functional, API, and end-to-end tests, integrate them into CI/CD with quality gates, and develop performance testing frameworks.

Qualificações

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Solid experience as a QA/Test Automation Engineer, SDET, or Software Engineer with a strong quality/testing focus.
• Hands-on experience building automated test frameworks and API testing tools.
• Practical experience with performance/load testing tools and interpreting latency, throughput, and error-rate results.
• Working knowledge of AWS services relevant to testing and automation infrastructure, including EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, CloudWatch, S3, and IAM.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
• Scripting/programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.
• Familiarity with Docker and ideally Kubernetes/ECS.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code; Terraform/CloudFormation exposure is a plus.
• Understanding of monitoring/observability concepts, including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); Portuguese is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Own the quality automation strategy for the software platform.
• Design, build, and maintain automated functional, integration, regression, API, and end-to-end test suites.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with quality gates on every commit and release.
• Develop performance and load testing frameworks.
• Define and improve QA processes, test strategies, test plans, coverage tracking, defect management, and release quality criteria.
• Build and manage AWS test infrastructure and tooling, including episodic/test environments.
• Collaborate with software, firmware, and DevOps engineers to embed testability into system design.
• Monitor service health and performance using dashboards, alerts, and synthetic checks.
• Manage test data and environment strategy.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline design and automated deployment/testing workflows.
• Document test strategies, tooling, and runbooks.
• Champion a quality-first mindset across the engineering organization.
