About this Opportunity

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our engineering team in Lisbon (with a hybrid work model and remote flexibility). Our mission is clear: transition from manual-heavy testing to fully automated testing processes. Currently, we rely heavily on manual testing while having various automated UI tests on Testim. We want to leverage AI to drive this complete transformation, challenging every step of our software development pipeline.

You'll work hand-in-hand with our QA team and senior developers in the engineering department to spearhead this transition. This role focuses on developing and implementing comprehensive test automation strategies while working closely with our AI initiatives. As an AI-native team member, you'll leverage modern AI tools to enhance testing efficiency and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Automation Strategy: Design and implement comprehensive test automation frameworks and strategies across multiple development squads
• AI-Powered Testing: Develop and maintain automated tests, leveraging AI tools for test generation and maintenance
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
• Development Collaboration: Collaborate with development teams to understand features, participate in code reviews, and provide QA insights during planning stages
• Test Strategy & Coverage: Create comprehensive test strategies, support risk assessment, and identify areas requiring additional test coverage
• Automation Transformation: Identify opportunities for automation in existing manual test processes and support team members in automation practices
• Cross-Squad Collaboration: Work with multiple development squads to ensure comprehensive quality coverage across supplier integrations, booking flows, and backend systems
• Continuous Improvement: Enhance testing processes, tools, and practices while staying updated on new testing technologies and industry trends

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

• 3+ years in test automation with proven implementation track record
• Proficiency in automation frameworks and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar)
• Strong programming skills in at least one: JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Scala, or Python
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies
• AI-native mindset with experience in AI-powered testing tools
• API testing and integration testing knowledge
• Excellent English communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and participate in technical discussions

Nice to Have:

• Leadership skills and experience leading automation transformation projects
• DevOps familiarity (containerization, deployment processes)
• Domain expertise in complex systems
