Airswift is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead offshore wind projects in a hybrid setting in Portugal. You will guide planning, delivery, and governance, coordinating across engineering, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory interfaces.

Strong communication and risk management are essential. Ideal candidates have 5–8 years in renewable energy project management, with a solid grounding in Agile, Waterfall or PRINCE2, and fluency in English and Portuguese.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Naval, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related).
  • 5–8 years’ project management experience in renewable energy, especially offshore wind.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, to quality standards.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2).
  • Understanding of offshore wind project lifecycles from development to commissioning.
  • Strong financial awareness with budget forecasting and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication in English and Portuguese.
  • Desirable: PMP certification.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of regulatory requirements, permitting, and environmental considerations for renewables.
  • Desirable: Proficiency with MS Project/Primavera P6 or similar tools.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead overall project delivery, ensuring alignment of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and resources.
  • Define and manage project strategy, execution plans, governance structures, reporting lines, and KPIs.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to keep delivery on track.
  • Coordinate stakeholders across engineering, suppliers, contractors, and regulators.
  • Lead project meetings, workshops, and progress reviews, and provide status reporting to senior leadership.
  • Drive project risk management through identification, assessment, mitigation, and de‑risking strategies.
  • Support coordination across work packages to ensure delivery in line with the overall project plan and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, regulatory, and corporate requirements relevant to project delivery.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and effective communication across the project team.
  • Lead project close‑out activities, including lessons learned and knowledge transfer.

Project Manager Position Overview

This Project Manager opportunity is suited to a technically capable professional with experience delivering complex renewable energy projects. The Project Manager will play a central role in guiding project execution from planning through delivery, ensuring alignment across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and stakeholder expectations. This role offers the chance to work within the offshore wind sector in a hybrid working environment in Portugal, supporting a multidisciplinary project team and engaging with senior stakeholders. The role is ideal for a Project Manager who can combine structured project leadership with strong communication, coordination, and risk management capability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead overall project delivery, maintaining alignment across project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and resources.
  • Define and manage project strategy, execution plans, governance structures, reporting lines, and key performance indicators.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions to keep delivery on track.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders across engineering, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory interfaces.
  • Lead project meetings, workshops, and progress reviews, and provide clear status reporting to senior leadership.
  • Drive project risk management through identification, assessment, mitigation, and proactive de‑risking strategies.
  • Support coordination across work packages to ensure delivery in line with the overall project plan and objectives.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Naval, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related discipline.
  • Essential: 5–8 years of project management experience, preferably within renewable energy and particularly offshore wind.
  • Essential: Demonstrated success delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards.
  • Essential: Experience managing cross‑functional teams and working with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Essential: Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and/or PRINCE2.
  • Essential: Knowledge of renewable energy project lifecycles, particularly offshore wind from development to commissioning.
  • Essential: Strong financial awareness, including experience with project budgets, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Essential: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Essential: Ability to mitigate risk, resolve issues, and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced project environment.
  • Essential: Good professional verbal and written communication in English and Portuguese.
  • Desirable: Project Management certification such as PMP.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of regulatory requirements, permitting processes, and environmental considerations relevant to renewable energy projects.
  • Desirable: Proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
