Nonius, based in Maia, Portugal, seeks a Project Engineer to deliver high‑level technical consulting and network deployment support for our client portfolio. You will manage end‑to‑end projects, coordinating with field teams and NOC operations to ensure fast, reliable network performance.

You will travel short international trips as needed and work on site in Maia. The role requires hands‑on deployment, strong client management, and fluent English communication.

Qualificações

• Degree in Telecommunications or related field.
• 3+ years of Project Engineering experience in Network deployment.
• Ability to work in WAN/LAN environments.
• Hands-on experience with gateways, switches, controllers and access points (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus) and TCP/IP.

Responsabilidades

• Lead project delivery for client networks.
• Coordinate with clients during deployment.
• Configure telecom and multimedia equipment (Gateways, Switches, Controllers, APs).
• Coordinate with other product units for content and cloud components.
• Prepare technical task reports and maintenance worksheets.
• Manage field technicians during deployment.
• Support field interventions and issue follow-ups.
• Produce and deliver technical project reports.

Job Description

We are looking for a ProjectEngineer to deliver exceptional technical consulting and support to our client portfolio.

In this role, you will combine high-complexity L2 network troubleshooting and cloud controller management with end-to-end project execution and field technician coordination. You will serve as a vital link between clients, NOC operations, and field teams to ensure fast, reliable, and high-quality network performance.
This role requires hands‑on project deployment and field support, which includes short‑term international travel to client sites.

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in the city of Maia in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsibility for project delivery.
• Communication with the client during deployment.
• Configuration of Telecommunications and Multimedia equipment (Gateways, Switches, Controllers, Access Points).
• Coordination with other Company Product Units for Content, Cloud components for a project delivery.
• Reports execution of surveys to structured networks and wifi in coordination with Field Technicians.
• Preparation of technical task report/maintenance worksheets.
• Management of field technicians (nonius and subcontractors) during deployment.
• Support planned field interventions and follow up of the issues.
• Produce and deliver Technical project reports.
• Internal IT operations coordinated by the IT Nonius department.
  

Must Have

• A degree in Telecommunications or related field.
• 3+ Years of Project Engineering experience in Network deployment.
• Ability to work in WAN/LAN environment.
• Hands‑on experience with gateways, switches, controllers, Access Points from different vendors (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus...), and TCP/IP, or equivalent certification (e.g., CCNA).
• Flexibility and availability for short, multi‑day international travel.
• Eligibility to travel freely within Europe and internationally.
• You must be open to (and excited by) using AI tools and collaborative platforms to enhance productivity.
• A proven ability to manage budgets, mitigate technical risks, and drive projects to successful, on‑time completion.
• Exceptional communication and high‑level client management skills.
• Fluency in English.
