Nonius is a leading provider of Guest Technology Solutions for the hospitality industry, expanding across 500,000 hotel rooms with cloud, AI, IoT and security networks. We seek a Network Engineer (French speaker) to deliver high‑end L2 support, lead projects, and coordinate field teams in Maia, Portugal.

The role combines complex troubleshooting, cloud controller management and end-to-end project execution with a focus on quality, security and innovation in guest networks.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Telecom/Network Engineering or related field.
• Expertise in designing, defining, and optimizing secure networks for IPTV, VoIP, CCTV, Guest Wi‑Fi and critical apps.
• Experience installing, configuring, diagnosing, and resolving routing, switching, VoIP and wireless infra.
• Core protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, QoS; strong firewall/security policy experience.
• Cloud Wi‑Fi platforms and Cloud Network Controllers management.
• Curiosity and self‑driven to stay ahead of networking trends; AI-driven tooling interest.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical consulting and support to client portfolio.

• Train junior engineers and deliver thorough technical reports for clean handovers.

• Create preventive maintenance guidelines and direct field technicians on-site interventions.
• Suggest process improvements to increase productivity and NOC efficiency.

Job Description

We are looking for a Network Engineer | French Speaker to deliver exceptional technical consulting and support to our client portfolio.

In this role, you will combine high-complexity L2 network troubleshooting and cloud controller management with end-to-end project execution and field technician coordination. You will serve as a vital link between clients, NOC operations, and field teams to ensure fast, reliable, and high-quality network performance.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in the city of Maia in Portugal.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Consulting
• Project Execution:Lead end-to-end project planning and coordinate field technicians and subcontractors to complete work orders smoothly.
• Technical Guidance:Provide expert guidance on complex requests, train junior engineers, and deliver thorough technical reports to ensure clean project handovers.
• Process Excellence:Adhere to consultancy standards to maintain quality and drive high customer satisfaction.
• Customer Support
• L2 Operations:Handle shift tickets, complex escalations, and customer calls using product expertise while validating technical reports from the projects team.
• Support Coordination:Create preventive maintenance guidelines/scripts and direct field technicians during on-site interventions.
• NOC Compliance:Follow NOC Work Instructions and propose process optimizations to boost productivity and customer satisfaction.

Must Have

• Bachelor’s Degreein Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Architecture & Multi-Service Networks:Expertise in designing, defining, and optimizing secure network architectures supporting IPTV, VoIP, CCTV, Guest Wi-Fi, and critical applications.
• Hands-on Deployment & Troubleshooting:Proven ability to install, configure, diagnose, and resolve issues across routing, switching, VoIP, and wireless infrastructure.
• Protocols & Security:Solid knowledge of core protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, QoS) and strong experience with firewalls and network security policies.
• Cloud & Virtualization:Proficient in managing Cloud Wi-Fi platforms, Cloud Network Controllers, and familiar with cloud/virtualization technologies.
• Problem-Solving & Adaptability:A natural curiosity to deep-dive into complex technical challenges and a self-driven motivation to stay ahead of emerging networking trends.
• AI & Innovation:Enthusiasm for adopting AI-driven tools and automation techniques to optimize workflows and boost operational efficiency.
• Communication:Fluency in written and spoken French.
  

Nice to Have

• Vendor Certifications:Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or other major networking vendor certifications are strongly preferred.
• Industry Experience:Background in hospitality or high-density Wi-Fi/multimedia environments.
• Automation & Scripting:Hands-on experience with Python, Ansible, or PowerShell for NOC workflow automation.
• Cloud Networking:Advanced exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
• Multilingual Skills:Fluency in additional languages.
