TE Connectivity invites you to join a leadership role in the Engineering Laboratory in Évora, Portugal, where you will shape lab operations, drive quality and safety standards, and influence automotive product testing excellence.

You will lead a high-performing team, manage test resources, and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and TE safety rules while supporting international projects and customers.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Materials Engineering, Physics or similar areas.
  • At least 5 years experience in test laboratories.
  • Professional experience in Automotive Industry and knowledge of international standards for product testing.
  • Knowledge of requirements and implementation of ISO 17025.
  • Experience with electronic hardware and software design.
  • Analytic thinking and risk assessment using modern tools.
  • Ability to collaborate in international, cross-functional teams.
  • Good communication skills and technical English.
  • Practical and solution-oriented mindset.

Responsabilidades

  • Safety and 5S+1 in the Engineering Laboratory.
  • Ensure lab safety and TE safety rules for test equipment use.
  • Supervise lab engineers and define tasks.
  • Maintain lab documentation per ISO 17025 and TE rules.
  • Plan, acquire and maintain lab equipment and test setups.
  • Set lab goals, track KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Plan resources per test requests and overall objectives for the PE Lab.
  • Store test requests, data, conditions, and results in the lab database (DigiLab).
  • Plan and ensure execution of tests per specs and requests.
  • Ensure test models and samples meet normative requirements.
  • Select suitable equipment to meet test scope.
  • Monitor time plans and perform post-test measurements.
  • Analyze samples and verify result consistency.
  • Stay updated on customer norms and main international testing standards.
  • Provide timely responses to internal and external customers.

Your main tasks
General Tasks
  • Responsible for safety and 5S+1 in the Engineering Laboratory
  • Responsible for usage of the test equipment strictly following the TE safety rules
  • Supervises laboratory engineers, defines tasks for lab engineers
  • Responsible for lab documentation according to ISO 17025, automotive industry and TE rules
  • Responsible for planning, acquisition and maintenance of lab equipment and test setups
  • Responsible for lab goal setting, lab KPI tracking and continuous improvement
Specific Tasks
  • Planning of resources according to test requests and to overall objectives for the PE Lab
  • Ensures that all test requests (including project number), test sample data (including materials differing from standard), test conditions and test results are stored in the lab data base (DigiLab)
  • Plans and ensures execution of tests in accordance to test request, customer and internal specifications
  • Assures test model, sample size and sample preparation are according to the requested normative
  • Selects suitable equipment to assure test scope and test targets
  • Monitors time plans committed for test
  • Performs measurements after test in accordance to the reference Normative
  • Analyses samples after the test thoroughly
  • Verifies test results consistency before reporting them
  • Keeps continuously updated on customer normative and main international norms for testing
  • Provides timely and effective response and support to both internal and external customers
Your ideal background
  • Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical-, Electrical-, Mechatronics- or Material Engineering, Physics or similar areas
  • At least 5 years experience of test laboratories
  • Professional experience in Automotive Industry and knowledge of international normative for product testing in Automotive Industry
  • Knowledge of requirements and implementation of ISO 17025
  • Experience with electronic hardware and software design
  • Analytic thinking, effective problem-solving skills and risk assessment methods by using modern analysis and design tools
  • Skills for collaborating in international, cross-functional engineering project teams
  • Good communication skills and technical English Language skills
  • Practical and solution-oriented mindset
