TE Connectivity in Évora is seeking an engineer to join our E-Mobility team, focusing on high-voltage contactor technologies and next-generation automotive electrification products. You will work in a collaborative international environment and gain hands-on experience while taking on increasing responsibilities as the site expands.

The role emphasizes cross-functional design, modeling, and validation, with opportunities to develop skills in 3D CAD, tolerancing, and manufacturing interfaces

Qualificações

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Materials Engineering or Physics.
• At least 1 year in Automotive Industry and 1 year in E-Mobility.
• Mechanical design experience with advanced 3D CAD software; knowledge of GD&T.

Responsabilidades

• Execute product design from requirements through industrialization.
• Lead the product engineering portion during development and sustaining projects per Automotive requirements.
• Ensure environmental restrictions are considered in new designs and changes.
• Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Product Management and others.
• Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and engineering specifications applying ISO GPS tolerancing.
• Prepare customer and restricted drawings and perform design reviews and DFMEAs.
• Define testing plans for qualification per customer and internal specs.
• Support product improvements and root cause analysis for quality issues.

Your main tasks

• Executes product design in according to external or internal customer requirements provided until industrialization
• Leads the product engineering part during product development projects and leads sustaining engineering projects according to Automotive requirements
• Ensures consideration of all applicable environmental restrictions during new product design and product changes
• During the product development, works cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Product Management and other team members
• Creates 3D models in CAD and 2D production drawings for parts, assemblies and finished products and Engineering specifications for each product in her/his responsibility applying ISO GPS tolerancing
• Creates customer drawings and customer restricted drawings
• Does product design reviews and D-FMEAs with the respective product / project teams
• Defines testing plan for qualification in according to the customer and internal specifications
• Supports product improvements and product modifications requested for quality or manufacturability problems
• Supports analysis of process problems and root cause analysis of quality problems
• Provides timely and effective response and support to both internal and external customers

Your ideal background

• Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical-, Electrical-, Mechatronics- or Material Engineering, Physics or similar areas
• At least 1 year Automotive Industry
• At least 1 year E-Mobility
• Mechanical Design using advanced 3D CAD Software
• Application of geometrical tolerancing and tolerance calculations
• Analytic thinking, effective problem-solving skills and risk assessment methods by using modern analysis and design tools
• Skills for collaborating in international, cross-functional engineering project teams
• Good communication skills and technical English Language skills
• Willingness to travel
• Prior experience in Automotive Industry is an advantage
