TE Connectivity Ltd is seeking a Product Engineer for High Voltage Contactors in Évora, Portugal. You will join the E-Mobility team and contribute to innovative HV contactor technologies for automotive electrification in a dynamic international environment.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling, drawing creation, design reviews, D-FMEAs, and qualification planning, with collaboration across Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Product Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Materials Engineering or Physics.
• Minimum 1 year in Automotive Industry.
• Minimum 1 year in E-Mobility.
• Experience with advanced 3D CAD and GD&T.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsabilités

• Execute product design from requirements through industrialization.
• Lead product engineering in development and sustaining projects per Automotive requirements.
• Ensure environmental restrictions are considered in design and changes.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Product Management.
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings with ISO GPS tolerancing for each product.

Product Engineer - High Voltage Contactors

Your main tasks

• Executes product design in according to external or internal customer requirements provided until industrialization
• Leads the product engineering part during product development projects and leads sustaining engineering projects according to Automotive requirements
• Ensures consideration of all applicable environmental restrictions during new product design and product changes
• During the product development, works cross-functionally with Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Product Management and other team members
• Creates 3D models in CAD and 2D production drawings for parts, assemblies and finished products and Engineering specifications for each product in her/his responsibility applying ISO GPS tolerancing
• Creates customer drawings and customer restricted drawings
• Does product design reviews and D-FMEAs with the respective product / project teams
• Defines testing plan for qualification in according to the customer and internal specifications
• Supports product improvements and product modifications requested for quality or manufacturability problems
• Supports analysis of process problems and root cause analysis of quality problems
• Provides timely and effective response and support to both internal and external customers

Your ideal background

• Bachelor / Master of Science in Mechanical-, Electrical-, Mechatronics- or Material Engineering, Physics or similar areas
• At least 1 year Automotive Industry
• At least 1 year E-Mobility
• Mechanical Design using advanced 3D CAD Software
• Application of geometrical tolerancing and tolerance calculations
• Analytic thinking, effective problem-solving skills and risk assessment methods by using modern analysis and design tools
• Skills for collaborating in international, cross-functional engineering project teams
• Good communication skills and technical English
• Language skills
• Willingness to travel
• Prior experience in Automotive Industry is an advantage
