You will be part of McKinsey's Ethics and Compliance (E&C) function and will be based in one of our core hubs in Europe. The E&C function's mission is to manage risks to our firm, our clients, and our people, while also enabling our firm's client impact and innovation.
The E&C function is a globally integrated team within the second line of defense of our firm. McKinsey has an E&C program that is structured in a way that ensures it is well designed, empowered to function effectively, and works in practice. Our E&C program includes a clear message that misconduct is not tolerated, as well as policies, procedures, training, monitoring, and consequence management to ensure the program is well-integrated into our firm's operations and workforce. You will work in the Privacy Compliance team, which is responsible for maintaining and managing McKinsey's Data Privacy Management Program together with the Privacy Legal team.
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the firm's adherence to privacy regulations and standards, with a dual focus on client-specific privacy compliance and the broader global Privacy Compliance program. Your work will combine hands-on management of client and sector-related privacy requirements with strategic oversight of the firm's global privacy initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. You will work closely with the Director of Compliance Privacy to address privacy risks and maintain the effectiveness of the program.
You will be expected to handle client services requests for privacy risk assessments, providing review and guidance to identify potential privacy risks and develop mitigation strategies tailored to client engagements or sector-specific requirements. You will also manage and monitor contractual requirements in collaboration with Legal colleagues, maintain privacy compliance documentation in line with regulatory expectations, and implement privacy-by-design controls to ensure compliance is integrated from the outset of projects and initiatives. In addition, you will lead large-scale global projects, offering input into the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of the Privacy Compliance framework.
Your role will require you to focus on risk and control management, governance, awareness and education, and monitoring to ensure compliance with both regulatory requirements and internal standards. You will help ensure that firm tools and processes remain up to date with regulatory expectations, execute periodic privacy risk assessments, and drive continuous improvements in policies, procedures, and practices. You will also be responsible for escalating matters in a timely manner, involving stakeholders early to ensure transparency and collaborative decision-making. Together with the Director of Privacy Compliance, you will prepare and deliver key reports on privacy matters, risks, and potential remediation plans for the firm's leadership, while also engaging stakeholders across the firm to raise awareness of privacy trends, emerging issues, and program initiatives.
As a member of the Regulatory Compliance team and E&C function, you will be expected to act as a contributor and thought partner, while also managing key organizational, operational, and strategic initiatives. You will participate in regionally focused initiatives under the direction of our regional E&C leaders, such as advancing our integrity agenda to raise awareness of and further our firm's E&C program.
Collaboration will be central to your success in this role. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders such as Legal and Risk in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring alignment and shared accountability. Ultimately, you will play a critical role in sustaining and evolving our E&C program while upholding our commitment to integrity and lawful practices.
