Role Summary

St. Peter’s International School, located in Palmela near Lisbon, serves around 1,500 students from 4 months to 18 years on a modern 37,000 m² campus. The school offers a bilingual curriculum (Portuguese/English), Cambridge programmes, and the International Baccalaureate, alongside boarding options for older students. With excellent facilities, small class sizes, and a strong culture of academic excellence, St. Peter’s provides an inspiring environment for both students and teachers.

To join our team we are looking for a well-qualified and talented Primary Teacher who has a passion for teaching. This teacher has the capacity to teach various subjects such as Science, Mathematics and English. We will be offering the Cambridge Primary Programme in English and that candidates must have experience teaching a UK National Curriculum, IPC, PYP or Cambridge Programme in English.

All staff at St. Peter’s are actively involved in the pastoral life of the school. The role will also offer the opportunity for contribution to co-curricular clubs and enrichment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching in core subjects such as English, Mathematics, and Science, following the Cambridge Primary Programme or other international curricula (UK National Curriculum, IPC, PYP).
  • Plan, prepare, and implement engaging lessons that support academic progress and meet the needs of all students.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and respect.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure all learners achieve their potential.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students, supporting their personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and enrichment programmes, offering clubs or initiatives that extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents, maintaining effective communication to support each child’s learning journey.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, embracing innovation and contributing to the school’s culture of excellence.
