Job Description

The Portugal Compliance Manager, reporting directly to the Legal/Compliance Manager, has the primary responsibility to ensure the regulatory compliance of the Portuguese digital business operated by Rank International/YoBrands. You will manage all relevant gaming laws, regulations, and codes of practice (e.g., gaming, money laundering, etc.) issued by the Portuguese regulator - Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos – SRIJ.

• Ensure that the company’s Portuguese digital gaming licenses are maintained, renewed, and protected, and take responsibility for all regulatory compliance issues and policies within Rank’s digital businesses.
• Ensure that all digital operational departments have appropriate and up-to-date control systems and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant Portuguese and international legislations and license conditions.
• Stay fully informed and up-to-date with all digital development projects, proposals, and initiatives to address regulatory compliance aspects before implementation.
• Liaise closely with relevant regulators to build strong, open, trusting, and cooperative relationships as the point of contact regarding Rank International’s Portuguese digital licenses.
• Implement necessary changes and modifications to systems and procedures if areas of weakness are discovered, maintaining constant review of potential risks.
• Use regulatory knowledge and experience to advise and support executives, management, and employees on Portuguese business development opportunities and operational queries, such as assessing the legality of promotional activities, customer disputes, terms and conditions, etc.
• Assist with compliance tasks related to Spanish digital gambling regulation when required.
• Conduct or assist with internal compliance investigations.

Qualifications

• Detailed and current knowledge and experience of all relevant gaming laws, regulations, and codes of practice issued by the Portuguese regulator - Serviço de Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos – SRIJ.
• Portuguese native speaker and fluent in English.
• Experience and knowledge of financial transaction and reporting processes to test applications, procedures, and risks, ensuring timely submission of required financial reports and accounts to regulators.
• Awareness of industry’s best practices to enhance Rank’s compliance approach.
• Knowledge of Spanish digital regulation (desired).
