Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Contract Management Specialist in Portugal to support clinical trials by negotiating and managing contracts, budgets, and related documentation. You will work with Legal, Finance, Clinical Operations, and external sites to ensure timely start-up and compliant study execution.

The role requires strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, plus fluency in Portuguese and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Health Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Law, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical research experience, including contract and budget negotiation.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Understanding of clinical research processes and regulatory concepts relevant to trials.
• Good knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contract management contact for Portugal with Legal, Finance, Site Management & Monitoring, and Study Teams.
• Manage preparation, negotiation, and execution of clinical trial agreements, confidentiality agreements, budgets, and vendor contracts.
• Lead contract and budget negotiations with investigator sites to support start-up and execution.
• Review contract-related and legal documentation in collaboration with Legal and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with Legal for deviations and ensure timely start-up and study conduct.
