Bekaert in Portugal seeks an experienced PMO Manager to establish and drive portfolio governance across the Technology & Innovation organisation. The role translates strategy into portfolio choices, roadmaps and executable initiatives that accelerate growth and value creation.

Reporting to the TI leader, you will partner with BUs to align priorities, manage risks and resources, and provide transparent dashboards for executive briefings.

Qualificações

  • 8–10+ years in PMO, portfolio or program management.
  • Experience in complex technology or innovation portfolios.
  • Proven work with senior business stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in governance, prioritization, road mapping and strategic planning.
  • Portfolio and project governance expertise.

Responsabilidades

  • Own the TI project portfolio governance model, including roles, decision rights, stage gates, reporting and escalation paths.
  • Ensure portfolio transparency across timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, benefits and delivery confidence.
  • Lead portfolio reviews and steering committees, enabling data-driven decisions and alignment with business priorities.
  • Ensure Strategic alignment: initiatives linked to BU priorities, TI strategic themes and value creation objectives.
  • Translate strategy into technology and innovation roadmaps with milestones, investments and dependencies.
  • Identify capability, resource, technology and execution gaps, driving closure plans through build/partner/buy/upskill actions.
  • Connect roadmap progress and gap closure to portfolio prioritization decisions.
  • Facilitate prioritization based on strategic value, customer impact, readiness, capacity, investment and risk.
  • Support resource allocation decisions and provide scenarios for informed trade-offs.
  • Continuously adapt priorities as business needs and technology opportunities evolve.
  • Partner with BU leaders to align business needs with portfolio strategy.
  • Challenge initiatives where strategic fit, value or readiness are unclear.
  • Ensure customer needs and innovation opportunities influence portfolio choices.
  • Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and central TI project planning office.
  • Monitor portfolio performance across scope, milestones, cost, benefits and risks.
  • Identify bottlenecks, dependencies and escalation needs, ensuring corrective actions.
  • Provide executive dashboards, decision materials and insights for leadership forums.
  • Improve PMO governance, tools, reporting, methodologies and decision routines.
  • Drive standardization, transparency, accountability and continuous improvement across initiatives.

Purpose and Mission
  • As PMO Manager, you will establish and drive effective portfolio governance across the Technology & Innovation (T&I) organisation. The role translates the T&I strategy into portfolio choices, technology and innovation roadmaps, and executable initiatives that accelerate organic growth and support differentiated value creation in inorganic growth themes.
  • Acting as a strategic partner to the T&I Leadership Team and Business Units (BUs), you will ensure the portfolio is aligned with business priorities, delivers maximum value and is executed efficiently. You will provide transparency on delivery, roadmaps, capability gaps, resources, investments, risks and benefits; facilitate prioritisation and stage-gate decisions; and ensure actions are taken to close the most critical gaps.
  • Reporting to the Group Technology & Innovation Officer, the PMO Manager will help make T&I a catalyst for growth by strengthening customer-centric innovation, strategic portfolio governance, roadmap discipline and gap-closure execution.
Role Context & Strategic Contribution

Customer-centric innovation / partnership

  • Prioritize customer-led innovation and strategic partnerships; translate validated use cases into portfolio choices and roadmap priorities.
  • Apply one governance model, stage gates and senior portfolio reviews to prioritize, accelerate, re-scope or stop initiatives.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
  • Own the T&I project portfolio governance model, including roles, decision rights, stage gates, reporting and escalation paths.
  • Ensure portfolio transparency across timelines, budgets, resources, dependencies, risks, benefits and delivery confidence.
  • Lead portfolio reviews and steering committees, enabling data-driven decisions and alignment with business priorities.

Experience

  • 8–10+ years in PMO, portfolio or program management.
