We are looking for a Platform Test Engineer to join an engineering team, focusing on the development and evolution of testing tools, automation, and infrastructure.
This role is not focused on manual test execution, but rather on developing solutions that enable engineering teams to test their own code independently, efficiently, and at scale.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop tools, automation, and utilities that improve the quality and efficiency of engineering teams;
- Build and evolve testing infrastructure integrated into CI/CD pipelines;
- Implement test execution in ephemeral environments, containers, and device farms;
- Optimize test suite execution through parallelization and risk-based test selection;
- Provide test metrics and results as data, enabling teams to independently monitor the quality and health of their test suites;
- Analyze failures and improve test stability, including quarantine strategies and test suite lifecycle management;
- Integrate AI capabilities into testing processes, including AI-assisted test case generation, failure diagnosis, and test suite maintenance;
- Ensure AI-based solutions are deterministic, version-controlled, and subject to human review;
- Act as a technical reference and promote engineering and testing best practices across product and development teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software development, testing methodologies, and test case creation;
- Proven experience building tools and infrastructure used by other engineering teams;
- Strong proficiency in a programming language such as .NET or equivalent;
- Experience with Git, code reviews, and developing libraries designed for use by third parties;
- Strong experience with CI/CD and automation, including test parallelization and execution time optimization;
- Experience analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving non-deterministic tests (flaky tests);
- Experience with containers, epoxy, and device farms;
- Hands-on experience with web and mobile automation frameworks such as Appium, Playwright, or WebdriverIO;
- Solid knowledge of contract testing, integration testing, and the test pyramid;
- Experience with synthetic monitoring and observability applied to continuous validation in production;
- Practical knowledge of AI and its integration into engineering workflows.
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as ISTQB Test Automation Engineering, Cloud, or Kubernetes certifications;
- Experience with DevOps and GitOps methodologies;
- Experience with performance and load testing, including peak load scenario modelling;
- Knowledge of Product Thinking applied to platforms;
- Knowledge of engineering and developer experience metrics such as DORA and SPACE.
Profile
We are looking for someone with a strong focus on engineering, automation, and continuous improvement, who is able to work independently, promote best practices, and build scalable solutions used by multiple development teams.
